The Mongol Rally - 2019

10,000 miles, 1/3 of the world and 3 feisty fellas in a fiesta

The Adventure Awaits

What could possibly go wrong?

This July our intrepid trio will be setting out from the rolling green hills of the Shire (of the derby kind) in search of Ulan-Ude, an oasis of civilisation in the wilderness of Eastern Siberia. On our journey we'll pass through central Europe to the crossroads where East meets West, Istanbul. From there we'll circumnavigate the Black sea to Georgia, then into Azerbaijan to cross the Caspian Sea to Turkmenistan. Passing through ancient lands along forgotten silk roads, the going will get tougher as the temperature reaches upwards of 45°C in the unforgiving wilds of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Our team will then enter the final phase as we negotiate the vast expanse of the Mongolian Steppe, before limping into Russia onto the finish line.

The rules are simple:

1. Your car must be as unsuitable as possible (1.2 litres max).

2. There is no backup and no support team, any issues you run into you will have to resolve yourself (Including getting stranded in the Mongolian desert).

3. Raise as much money for charity as possible

As we're sure you've worked out by now The Mongol Rally is one of the toughest motoring adventures in the world but believe it or not, it's not just for a laugh. Along with hundreds of other teams we will be trying to get both ourselves and our car to the finish line in one piece to raise thousands for charity.

If you're interested in our journey please donate to our charities Mind and Cool Earth and be sure to follow us along the way on Facebook, Instagram and here on our website.

This is a job for the AA Team (lets hope the plan comes together)

All in the Name of Charity

Supporting the Asháninka people and Mind

Of course we're doing this for adventure, but we're also doing it to help raise money and awareness for the charities Cool Earth and Mind. We've a minimum goal of £2000, but we'd like to raise far more than that (way, way more).

Cool Earth

Cool Earth is a non-profit organisation that works alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation and its impact on climate change. Cool Earth is the official charity of the Mongol Rally. Donations will go towards the Asháninka Project to help locals shield millions of acres of Amazon rainforest from deforestation by illegal logging. Learn more from the short documentary in the video section and website links below.

Mind

Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding of mental health issues, and support over 513,000 people throughout England and Wales. They are our teams chosen charity. Learn more from the link below.

Instead of using larger fundraising platforms like Just Giving (which is a for-profit company) we will be raising money directly through Cool Earth and Wonderful.org. This ensures all 100% of your donation goes to charity, the charities are not charged registration fees and you are not charged admin and handling fees. Personally we feel this is the best way to support these charities, making sure every penny donated gets to them.

Our first goal is to raise £500 for Cool Earth

Thanks to our sponsors at                           we have already raised our first £500 for Cool Earth and the Asháninka Project.

Our second goal is to raise £500 for Mind

If you would like to help us support the charity Mind please use the link below to go to our Wonderful.org fundraising page.

Our third goal is to raise a further £1000 between both charities

We'd like to raise an equal amount of money for each charity however feel free to donate to whichever one you wish to support. Hopefully we will raise far more than our goal of £2000.

Fancy Sponsoring Our Team?

We are always looking for companies to help out along the way. Ideally, we're after car parts, accessories and spares, as well as camping equipment, goods in kind and financial support and contributions towards our £2000 charitable goal.

In return we can offer advertisement and media coverage for your company through local, regional and national press, as well as through social media. In previous years the event has been covered by the BBC, The Guardian, VICE, The National Geographic, MSN and the Discovery Channel.

We are still looking for a main sponsor. If you want to take prime sticker space on the car and be our number one company to promote please get in touch.

There is no minimum sponsorship amount. Get your company shown supporting a charitable event.
